ABOUT US
A dream come true, 17 years ago I started working in the restaurant industry, and since then this dream called Cinco de Mayo Mexican cuisine and cantina, I started washing dishes in a very famous Mexican restaurant in Chicago, there I began to climb positions until I get to the line cook. Since then, my passion for cooking was born, and my dream of opening my own restaurant grew and grew as I accumulated experience.
When I felt that in that place I no longer had much to learn, I moved to another place where I alternated with other chefs with more expertise and experience in the kitchen, there I began to learn more about techniques, ingredients and categories. And it helped me to train myself as a chef specializing in regional Mexican cuisine.
Three years ago, my dream finally came true, when I was able to open my
first restaurant in the town of Portage Indiana, it was very difficult at first due to the distances to travel daily, the sacrifice of not seeing family literally all day and with the support of all of them and my wife who is not only my partner, she is my accomplice in this beautiful adventure.
